Departure in the morning at 08.30 from your Hotel, b & b in Palermo or from the Port, in new and comfortable minibuses, the morning will be dedicated to visiting the main monuments of the historic center of the Sicilian capital and visiting Monreale. After a short journey we begin the visit of the city of about 1 hour where you can admire the Abbey of Monreale with its magnificent cathedral, founded in 1172, a masterpiece of Norman architecture, with its dazzling 12th century mosaics and still the cloister. Benedictine famous for the refinement of its colonnade. From Monreale we will move to the historic center of Palermo, where we will walk along Corso Vittorio Emanuele where the magnificent historic center Porta Nuova begins, the Royal Palace or '' Palazzo dei Normanni '' with its garden, the visit of the Cathedral founded in 1184, dedicated to Virgin Mary, in which different architectural styles are mixed, we will then move to Via Maqueda which is the beating heart of the city and overlooked by its noble palaces and churches with an imposing baroque facade and Piazza Quattro Canti and Piazza Pretoria with the fountain monumental, the Church of the Martorana in Arab-Norman style, finally the Politeama Theater and the Massimo Theater and around 1.30pm it is decided whether to take a lunch break in one of the many restaurant-bars where you can taste typical dishes and recipes that have their roots in centuries of Sicilian gastronomic traditions. The afternoon will be dedicated to visiting Mondello and the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia on Monte Pellegrino. Mondello tourist resort of Palermo, enclosed between Monte Pellegrino and Monte Gallo, separated from the city by the Parco della Favorita of which we will walk its tree-lined avenues. The Village is renowned for its beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in Sicily, for its numerous Art Nouveau villas, known as the best expression of Art Nouveau in Italy, and for the sites of historical interest, for the many clubs and restaurants.
